Dark or milk chocolate?I can go for some milk chocolate from time to time, but I am definitely a dark chocolate girl all the way! I took my Christmas Bark recipe {dark chocolate, fruit, nuts} & switched it up to make these adorable little chocolate nests. Perfect for spring! My little helper loved creating these with me. He especially LOVED eating them!! He's also team dark chocolate. :) This recipe is so simple, give it a try! Stretch it past Easter by trading out the M&Ms with your favorite candy, nut, or dried fruit. **These can be stored in the freezer or fridge, just pop one out to thaw when you get a craving for something sweet. For up to two months(freezer) & a week or two (fridge). If you plan to eat them right away store in a glass container on the counter for a few days. so Easy to share with friends & family!

Nutter Butters Swiss Rolls Oatmeal Cream Pies Zebra Cakes Star Crunch All the nostalgic kid flavors!! Sadly, today I don't indulge in those anymore. Probably the massive amount of sugar & artificial ingredients. I do however, like to use those flavors to make my own versions. These Chewy Granola Bars remind me of the classic Star Crunch meets non-bake cookie meets protein ball. My version is super easy to mix up & enjoy out of the fridge all week. Without all of the sugar and empty calories! Oats & nut butter add protein & fiber, while the chocolate adds a sweet bite. Ideal for on-the-go snacking, lunch boxes or dessert. |
Do you ever dream about your to-do list? Creating recipes & cooking always has me dreaming about food. This recipe came to me one early, early morning. I knew if I didn't write it down immediately I would forget. So what did I do?? I wearily squinted my eyes at my ultra bright phone & typed nonsense in my "notes" app.
It looked something like this....
"Dark choc with pistachios"
Luckily I remembered what that actually meant!!
This Christmas will be a little different since we have chosen to go gluten free. The usual desserts are mostly out. This recipe is something sweet that we can have without any substitutions!! It's not Mom's Christmas cookies BUT it helps with my sweet tooth. The recipe itself can be switched up to fit your taste buds. Choose any nut or dried fruit combination you want.

When you are 8 months pregnant cravings can hit you pretty hard sometimes, lately anything sweet is just too hard to pass up. I have tried to satisfy some of the cravings by making sweet treats at home this time around. This way I can control the ingredients and quality. Honestly, I always crave sweet things pregnant or not. I have been known to skip a meal and just head straight for ice cream....my dentist thanks me! But that is beside the point.
A few of the ladies I follow on Instagram post the most amazing looking recipes, I have made a few and loved them. Some are full on sweets, others a little less sugar packed with more nutritious ingredients. Crave worthy nonetheless. Regardless, I thought they were worth sharing. Some of the recipes are a screenshot from their Instagram account, The photos included are my version of the original recipe. I have included their handles if you want to search for yourself! Here are my favorites when I need something sweet...
Chocolate Milk Banana Snacking Bread @shutthekaleup
I used regular flour and plain almond milk because it is what I had on hand.
